Sandra Alba Cauffman to be Listed among Industry Leaders
Sandra Cauffman has fulfilled her childhood dream of working for NASA
ARLINGTON, VA, May 24, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sandra Alba Cauffman, Project Manager for NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in engineering and project management.
With 23 years of professional experience, Ms. Cauffman attributes her success to hard work and determination. As a project manager, she is tasked with the planning, organizing, and directing of technical and programmatic aspects of projects spanning diverse disciplines. She became interested in working for NASA at the age of 7 and got her start with a NASA contractor upon graduating from college and later joined NASA as a Civil Servant in 1991. She is proud to be one of four Costa Ricans working for NASA, and she hopes to see her project in orbit; it is currently scheduled to launch in 2014.
Ms. Cauffman earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from George Mason University in 1995. She also holds two Bachelor of Science Degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering from the same institution, earned in 1988. A certified project manager, she is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Inc., Alpha Chi National College Honor Society (the highest academic honor at GMU) and the George Mason University Chapter of Eta Kappa Nu - National Honor Society for Electrical Engineers.
