WHITEHALL, MI, November 28, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Loretta O'Brien, Supply Chain Manager of Alcoa Power and Propulsion for Alcoa Howmet, a subsidiary of Alcoa Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in supply chain management.

Ms. O'Brien's 30 years of industry experience allow her to successfully serve as supply chain manager of Alcoa Power and Propulsion for Alcoa Howmet, a global leader in airfoil and structural investment castings serving the aerospace, defense, energy and industrial markets. In her position, she is responsible for planning strategies, developing and enhancing procedures for specific business units in the organization, and overseeing multiple plants in Mexico, Canada, Europe, Japan and the United States. She also focuses on standardizing procedures globally and establishing flow charts and organizational procedures. She travels globally to ensure the required results are met, manages two direct reports and activities that support 16 supply chain managers.

A graduate of Grand Valley State University, Ms. O'Brien holds a Bachelor of Science in marketing and business. She took advantage of an opportunity to join the industry right out of school, and today, she attributes her success to her assertive nature and ability to adapt to change. A member of American Management Association, Ms. O'Brien hopes to continue experiencing growth, and possibly start her own company.
