Civil Aviation Authority Botswana: Providing a Vital Link for Businesses
The Civil Aviation Authority Botswana (CAAB) is the only organisation in charge of the aviation industry and the management of the airports in Botswana

CARLSBAD, CA, November 08, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Civil Aviation Authority Botswana (CAAB) is the only organisation in charge of the aviation industry and the management of the airports in Botswana and Modipe Nkwe, the Public Affairs Manager of CAAB, believes the company is the main link in business coming in to the country from overseas. "Be it tourism, be it any business where anybody wants to come to Botswana, we are a link and we find ourselves as a key player in the growth of the economy in this country," he notes.

Of the numerous airports the CAAB is in charge of, four are major internationals. The Sir Seretse Khama International Airport is the biggest airport and the CAAB is also in control of Maun Airport, Kasane Airport and Francistown Airport. In addition to these, the CAAB also takes responsibility for the minor international airports of Selebi-Phikwe and Ghanzi as well as a number of domestic airstrips.

The CAAB is currently implementing major expansions at some of its sites, most notably at the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport, consisting of a terminal expansion totalling $100 million.

Other expansions are also ongoing at the Francistown and Maun airports and the CAAB has future plans for an expansion at its other large international airport, Kasane, possibly as soon as in the next financial year, according to Nkwe.
