Dean J. Edmonds Joins the Ranks of Leading Professionals
Dean J. Edmonds is a 29-year professional manager

FREMONT, CA, August 30, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dean J. Edmonds, Support Manager of Training for the Federal Aviation Administration has been recognized by Cambridge Who's who for demonstrating dedication and excellence in leadership development and management.

With 29 years of professional experience Mr. Edmonds began his career with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a controller in Minneapolis Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC). His career has taken him to ten different facilities, through the Flight Service, Terminal and En Route environment and now, as the Support Manager for Training at Oakland ARTCC he is responsible, not only for molding and shaping new controllers as they begin their careers, but also helping all employees reach their highest potential through continued education. Mr. Edmonds is particularly passionate about helping manager's lead, and spends much of his time coaching and mentoring others.

Over his 29-year career, Mr. Edmonds has received numerous awards, the most prestigious being the Administrators Award for Equal Employment Opportunity while in American Samoa. During his four years as manager of Deer Valley ATCT, his facility was twice named Arizona Facility of the Year and was also recognized as the Model Workplace for the Western-Pacific Region.

Outside of work, he is the former secretary for the Kailua-Kona chapter of American Heart Association, Inc. as well as a former president of the Kamani Trees homeowners association. He's been certified as an international referee and has worked games in Papua New Guinea and throughout Australia. He is also an NCAA-rated official in basketball, baseball and women's softball and has a silver medal from a 1993 oceanic games held in Papua New Guinea as the coach of the American Samoa women's softball team.

In the future, Mr. Edmonds hopes to become more involved in mediation and leadership development both in and outside the Agency, and hopes to help new leaders become great leaders by sharing with them the lessons he has learned from those he has served.
