• International assignments of joint forces operations, Live-Virtual-Constructive integration and interoperability in training simulations.

• Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) as the weapon of choice in asymmetric warfare waged against joint forces over recent years. IEDs are becoming ever more sophisticated and in many cases fatally effective. In reaction, joint forces have developed enhanced Counter-IED (C-IED) training capabilities.

• Increased training effectiveness for less risk, time and cost through leveraging real benefit from human factors, in particular the need to collaborate and share data, models and practice.

• An increased emphasis on integrating live training with advanced technologies, presenting far greater scope for soldiers to be prepared for the unexpected.
